WHAT IS HSN CODE?

 

Reset the commodity description and coding system, often referring to "synchronized system names". These are the terms of a multipurpose global commodity developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO). It was the first effective in 1988. The HSN code consists of a six-digit uniform code that groups 5,000+ items and is accepted worldwide.

This type of feature is used for tax collection purposes to indicate the appropriate duty rate on an item in a country. This code is used to determine the number of additional exchanges or all import transactions in a country.

HSN CODES UNDER GST

 

Under the GST Act, the HSN code is to be used by anyone who has completed the GST registration. Under the HSN code, GST should be mentioned on the challan and further that the GST should be responsible for the entire registration process.

  • Under the GST, we require most dealers to adhere to two-, four-, or eight-digit HSN codes for their goods, depending on the first year after their turn.

 

  • Individuals whose business is worth Rs. 5 million or more will use 4 digit HSN code,
  • Individuals with a turnover of more than Rs. 500 are below Rs. 1.5 crore so far. Will use 50 million 2 digit HSN code,
  • Individuals with a turnover of less than Rs. 500 crore do not need to refer to HSN code.
  • Rachna is not mentioning the HSN code on her challan required for businesses registered under this scheme.

WHY HSN CODE IS IMPORTANT

 

Under the Indian tax system 6, more than 1211 items have been set aside for general classes or diagnostic classes. These are 0% or no tax, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. The use of GST will be arranged around a fixed rating, reducing the cost of worldwide exchange.
